Kabarole

Kabarole District is located in Western Uganda and is part of the Toro sub-region. Its main town, Fort Portal, is known as a tourism hub and was recently granted city status. The district is famous for its beautiful scenery, including crater lakes, rolling hills, and tea plantations. Agriculture is the backbone of Kabarole’s economy, with tea, coffee, bananas, and dairy farming being major activities. It is home to parts of Kibale National Park, a prime spot for chimpanzee tracking and bird watching. The district is culturally rich, being the seat of the Toro Kingdom and its royal palace. Fort Portal is also an education and health center for the region, hosting several institutions and hospitals.
