Kiruhura

Kiruhura District is located in Western Uganda, in the Ankole sub-region. It is well known as a major livestock and dairy production area, supplying large amounts of milk daily. The district is home to Lake Mburo National Park, attracting tourists for wildlife viewing and boat rides. Local culture is showcased at sites like Igongo Cultural Centre and Mugore Rocks. Residents mainly rear cattle and goats, with growing fish farming activities too. Despite its wealth in dairy, Kiruhura faces livestock disease challenges and limited banking services.
